Description
The American Philosophical Association’s Diversity and Inclusiveness Grant Program addresses philosophy’s serious lack of demographic diversity. It supports projects that increase the presence and participation of women, racial and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, people of low socioeconomic status, and other underrepresented groups at all levels of the field. The program reflects the APA’s mission, goals, and longstanding commitment to making philosophy more diverse and inclusive.
The APA strongly prefers short-term seed funding for new, innovative, and pilot projects over long-term, repeat, or sustaining support for established work. Funded projects evaluate progress against their stated goals using the evaluation plan in the original proposal. Annual reports describe what APA support made possible and are made public.
