Description
This program provides funding to states and units of local government with existing crime laboratories that conduct DNA analysis. The goal is to process more DNA samples for entry into the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS), thereby reducing the number of forensic and database DNA samples awaiting analysis, and/or preventing future backlogs. Funding can be used to increase laboratory capacity, improve efficiency, and support timely DNA processing to assist in criminal justice efforts.
