Description
Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Doctoral Clinical Fellowships support clinicians with limited research experience who want to study towards a higher research degree, typically a PhD, or pursue other independent research plans. The awards aim to build the research track record, experience and skills needed to compete for advanced fellowships and develop independent research activity. They fund basic, translational and clinical research aligned with the charity’s strategy, focusing on dementia treatment, diagnosis and prevention.
The charity is particularly interested in projects involving interventional clinical trials and samples, and welcomes fellows seeking trial experience alongside their research. An optional placement programme, offered with the NIHR UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN), provides tailored training and hands-on dementia trial experience to develop future clinical research leaders.
