Description
This grant opportunity from the Indian Health Service (IHS) aims to support the development and expansion of Domestic Violence Prevention (DVP) programs for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. The initiative funds projects that integrate culturally appropriate, trauma-informed prevention and victim services. Activities may include addressing domestic and sexual violence, sexual exploitation, human trafficking, Missing and Murdered AI/AN people, and child maltreatment. Programs are expected to collaborate with law enforcement, health care, behavioral health, social services, education, shelters, legal services, and advocacy organizations. Funded projects should provide victim advocacy, implement both evidence-based and traditional practices, raise awareness of the health impacts of violence, collect and share relevant data, and develop plans for long-term sustainability.
