Description
Established by the Steel Manufacturers Association and the Association for Iron and Steel Technology Foundation, this scholarship honors Don B. Daily’s contributions to workplace safety in the North American steel industry. It supports university students studying safety or industrial hygiene, pairing practical industry experience with academic support.
Each award begins with a paid summer internship at a North American steel-producing company or industry supplier, followed by a one-year scholarship. The program emphasizes interest in industrial safety careers and how students’ skills could enhance safety in steel manufacturing. AIST assists selected recipients with internship placement at qualifying companies throughout North America, and recipients can express company and location preferences.
