Description
The Don Freeman Grant, established by the renowned illustrator Don Freeman, is designed to assist picture book illustrators in furthering their training, understanding, and work in the picture book genre. The grant provides financial support for illustrators to complete a book dummy or portfolio, with funds that may be used for art supplies, workshops, courses, research, or other activities directly related to project completion. Each year, two grants are awarded: one to a published illustrator and one to a pre-published illustrator, with the aim of nurturing talent and promoting excellence in children’s book illustration.
