Description
The Douglas Community Fund, administered by Oregon Community Foundation (OCF), provides competitive grants primarily addressing the health and medical needs of Douglas County residents. Community health and medical projects receive high priority. Projects addressing other needs in the county may be considered when additional funds are available.
The fund traces its origins to the Douglas Community Foundation, which raised money to build and operate Douglas Community Hospital. After nearly 40 years, the hospital was sold and the foundation began supporting other projects in Douglas County. In 2002, the foundation dissolved and transferred its assets to OCF to establish the fund. A separate scholarship program supports Douglas County high school graduates studying specified health-related fields.
