Description
This opportunity funds research that extends the data collection, follow-up, and analysis of existing breast cancer clinical studies. The award aims to increase the clinical impact of patient participation by addressing knowledge lost due to early trial termination, limited follow-up, or suboptimal data/sample collection and analysis. Projects may include deeper molecular analysis, new correlative studies, biomarker validation, or ongoing follow-up of patients from completed or ongoing clinical trials—but must not initiate new trials or enroll new patients.
All applications must address at least one of the FY26 Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP) overarching challenges, such as prevention, distinguishing deadly vs. non-deadly breast cancers, improving treatment regimens, or eliminating metastatic mortality, or provide strong justification for exception.
The research team must include at least two breast cancer consumer advocates actively involved in advocacy organizations, who will provide input throughout the project.
