Description
The Community Development Block Grants Economic Development program assists non-entitlement Missouri communities in revitalizing downtowns and developing public infrastructure to enhance economic vitality. The program offers two main initiatives:
- Downtown Revitalization: Funds projects that eliminate slum and blight, improve building facades, and address code violations in commercial structures within core downtown areas, aiming to restore downtowns as vibrant community centers.
- Industrial Infrastructure: Provides grants for public infrastructure (e.g., streets, water, sewer lines) necessary to attract or retain industries, support business expansion, and create jobs. Projects must be publicly owned and directly support private sector job creation.
