Downtown Revitalization supports Missouri communities by funding facade improvements, commercial code repairs, community facilities, and related infrastructure to eliminate downtown slum and blight.

Description
The Downtown Revitalization Program is administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development through its Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) Economic Development program. It helps eligible Missouri communities renew downtown areas and restore their prominence as centers of community activity. Its central focus is eliminating slum and blight on the front and selected side facades of buildings in core downtown areas, while addressing code violations in commercial structures.
Supported work includes eligible public and private facade improvements, code-related repairs in commercial or mixed-use buildings, interior or exterior improvements to nonprofit community and neighborhood facilities, and infrastructure directly related to downtown revitalization. Projects must advance HUD’s slum and blight national objective, generally on an area basis.
