Description
SIR Foundation established the Dr. Gary J. Becker Young Investigator Award in 1990 to recognize promising interventional radiology practitioners early in their careers and encourage their pursuit of academic careers. Named for the founding editor of the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR), the annual award honors the author of the most outstanding clinical science research paper submitted.
The award recognizes the importance of young investigators in developing future interventional solutions. Review considers both the scientific manuscript and the applicant’s developing research track record, alongside service and leadership within the interventional radiology community and promotion of the specialty. The award is presented during the SIR Foundation Awards Ceremony at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting.
