This grant supports emergency medicine residents in conducting impactful, self-limited research projects over a one-year period, with guidance from a faculty mentor. The goal is to foster interest in emergency medicine research—including educational research—and to develop skills that contribute to the advancement of emergency care. Projects should align with the mission of the SAEM Foundation to improve patient care and cultivate future physician-investigators. Awardees are expected to attend the SAEM Annual Meeting, submit interim and final progress reports, present their research at the annual meeting, and publish a first-authored manuscript within two years of completing the award.
