The Dr. Jacob Bolotin Awards, presented by the National Federation of the Blind, honor individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding initiative and leadership in improving the lives of blind people in the United States. Named after Dr. Jacob W. Bolotin, the world’s first physician blind from birth, these awards recognize efforts that break down barriers, change negative perceptions, and inspire blind people to achieve new heights. Awardees may include entrepreneurs, volunteers, educators, technology developers, nonprofit organizations, and others whose work has had a significant positive impact on the blind community. Winners receive a cash award and public recognition at the NFB’s national convention.
