Description
The DTE Energy Foundation funds this annual tree-planting program in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Urban and Community Forestry Program and ReLeaf Michigan. It supports community projects that increase the number and diversity of properly planted, established and maintained trees in DTE Energy’s service area. Planting sites may include parks, street rights-of-way, school grounds, botanical gardens and neighborhood common spaces, provided they are public or open to the public.
The program also aims to build awareness of tree benefits, improve planting and tree-care practices, strengthen climate resilience and engage communities in addressing tree equity and environmental justice.
