Description
The German Research Foundation (DFG) runs this programme within Scientific Library Services and Information Systems (LIS). It supports the development and expansion of cross-regional digital information infrastructures serving all or individual research disciplines. Supported work includes tools for acquiring, accessing, processing, analysing, and preserving scientific information, as well as mature, widely used research software, virtual research environments, and digital research platforms.
The programme also supports organisational and financing models for long-term operation, training linked to infrastructure development, and studies that directly inform development, implementation, or consolidation. It prioritises reusable, modular structures and close collaboration between researchers and infrastructure professionals. Projects should address demonstrated community needs, consider existing solutions, and enable interoperability with national and international systems.
