--- ## Description The EACVI Research Grants, offered by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), provide one-year funding to early-career researchers in cardiovascular imaging. The grant supports placements at leading academic centres in ESC Member or Affiliated Member countries outside the applicant’s own country, aiming to foster international collaboration, professional development, and advanced research training in non-invasive imaging modalities such as echocardiography, cardiovascular magnetic resonance, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac CT. --- ## Due Dates - September 30, 2026: Full application submission deadline (annual closing date for EACVI Research Grants) All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates. --- ## Funding Amount - Each grant provides €30,000 for a 12-month research period. - The award is intended for daily subsistence and must cover a full year; shorter research periods are not accepted. - The grant is paid directly to the recipient for their stay at the host institution. --- ## Eligibility Applicants must meet **all** the following criteria: - Be under 40 years old on the day of the application deadline. - Hold EACVI Silver level membership at the time of application. - Be a medical graduate at any stage before obtaining a permanent, senior staff, or consultant post, or a science graduate up to junior investigator/lecturer/assistant professor (with relevant research experience). - Be citizens or residents (for tax purposes) of an [ESC Member country](https://www.escardio.org/The-ESC/Member-National-Cardiac-Societies) or [ESC Affiliated Member Country](https://www.escardio.org/The-ESC/Affiliated-Cardiac-Societies), and ordinarily resident in such a country for at least 3 years prior to application. - The research must take place in a host institution located in a different ESC Member or Affiliated Member country from both the applicant’s citizenship and their initial medical training country. - Only one candidate per host institution is allowed per year; a host institution cannot host winners in consecutive years. - Applicants cannot apply if they already hold another ESC/EACVI grant for the same period. - Final selection is subject to visa acceptance (if required). --- ## Application Process - Applications must be submitted via the [online ESC Grants Portal](https://myesc.escardio.org/M_Grants) between March 31 and September 30. - The application consists of: - Part A: Applicant’s profile and project proposal (completed by the applicant). - Part B: Host institution form (completed by the host supervisor and returned to the applicant). - CV in European format. - Both parts and the CV must be uploaded online by the applicant before the deadline. - Applicants are responsible for identifying and contacting their host institution.
