Description
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute offers Early-Career Awards through its Intramural Research Program (IRP), funded primarily by Pelotonia. The awards support early-career faculty pursuing cancer-focused research alongside mentored career development. Projects are intended to produce research results, preliminary data and publications that strengthen applications for independent cancer-related grants, preferably an NCI R01.
Reviewers consider scientific merit and prospects for future NCI funding, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, potential impact on cancer treatment and alignment with the cancer center’s mission. The OSUCCC – James Director makes final funding decisions.
