Description
The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) recognizes early-career educators of color through a two-year leadership award focused on building accomplished careers in literacy education. Rather than funding a research project, the program provides a national forum for professional collaboration and development.
In the first year, recipients attend the ECEOC Institute and receive mentor support to plan their experience and use NCTE resources for professional growth. In the second year, they have an opportunity to present or co-present at the NCTE Annual Convention. Recipients can also collaborate with NCTE leaders and receive a plaque recognizing their participation.
