Description
The Institute of English Studies (IES), within the University of London’s School of Advanced Study, offers Early Career Research Fellowships as a base for completing research, developing grant applications and pursuing academic posts. Fellows contribute to specialist seminars, events and conferences, and help host and develop funded research projects. The programme combines independent research with participation in the Institute’s academic community.
IES encourages interdisciplinary collaboration across the School of Advanced Study and sustained research relationships with English departments throughout the UK. Research can span English Studies, book history, manuscript studies, palaeography, bibliography, textual scholarship and scholarly editing. The Institute also welcomes international research connections and projects developed with its staff and existing fellows.
