Description
The Early Career Research Fellowships at the University of London - School of Advanced Study are designed to support non-affiliated early stage researchers who are within five years of receiving their doctorate. Fellows are provided with a base at the Institute of English Studies (IES) to complete research, apply for grants and academic posts, and actively participate in the Institute’s intellectual community. The fellowship emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, engagement with English departments across the UK, and interaction with international scholars.
Fellows benefit from shared office space, access to the Senate House Library, attendance at Institute events, and the opportunity to propose and organize seminars, workshops, or conferences. Fellows are also expected to contribute a blog post during their term. While the standard fellowship is non-stipendiary, a travel and research expenses fund is available, subject to demand and affordability. Special sub-fellowships, such as the William St Clair Fellowship, may offer additional financial support.
