Description
The Medical Research Foundation of Oregon’s Early Clinical Investigator awards support trainee investigators pursuing careers in clinical or clinical/translational research. Administered through Oregon Health & Science University, the program funds research conducted in Oregon involving human subjects or human-origin materials, including tissues, specimens, and clinical, cognitive, or behavioral data.
Clinical/translational projects must clearly address human health or disease and have a high probability of leading to human-subject research in the near term. Animal-model studies require a strong rationale connecting them to near-future research involving human subjects or specimens. The awards combine research with training and career development to foster independence. Strong preference goes to proposals that could develop into nationally supported career development awards, using project data as a foundation for future funding.
