    Description

The ZOLL Foundation supports early-stage researchers worldwide through seed grants intended to improve care for patients with serious cardiopulmonary and respiratory conditions. Its research scope includes emergency medicine, critical care, trauma, cardiovascular health, pulmonary health, sleep-disordered breathing, neuroscience, and translational research that applies discoveries to training and clinical practice.

The Foundation prioritizes new therapies or techniques, research that better explains training and treatment practices, and projects whose initial results could help investigators secure larger follow-on funding. Recognizing that newer researchers may lack a substantial track record or pilot data, it focuses on proposal quality and mentorship. Pilot data may support an application but is not required. The Foundation’s Board of Directors reviews proposals and oversees award decisions.
