The POSCO Visiting Fellowship Program, endowed by POSCO and administered by the East-West Center, supports contemporary, policy-relevant research on Korea and Northeast Asia. It invites outstanding scholars and policymakers to undertake research and writing on an agreed topic during a residential fellowship in Honolulu. The program aims to generate constructive, informative research that contributes to discussion and publication on Korean issues.
Research priorities encompass the two Koreas and Northeast Asia, security issues for Korea and Northeast Asia, economic and social issues in South Korea, and political challenges in Korea. Fellows develop a high-quality paper intended for publication in an academic journal or book and share their findings through a Center-wide seminar and participation in Center activities.
