    Description

    This grant program is designed to enhance education, workforce skills, and economic development capacity within Oregon’s Border Region, which includes communities within 20 miles of the Idaho border (such as Ontario, Vale, Nyssa, Willow Creek, Brogan, and adjacent areas). Grants are awarded to local educational service providers to support workforce training initiatives, including new or expanded educational programs, equipment purchases, or facility upgrades that directly address regional workforce needs. The program aims to improve regional prosperity, competitiveness with Idaho, workforce availability and skills, property tax base, and the overall image of the region, while leveraging additional funding sources.
