Description
The EB Research Project Grants program funds research initiatives with the potential to directly result in commercially viable products or therapies for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). Projects must be designed for near- to mid-term commercialization (within 1–4 years) and should aim to meaningfully improve the quality of life of those living with EB or serve as curative solutions. The program prioritizes clinical trial work, but pre-clinical projects with a clear commercialization plan are also eligible. Research-enabling tools that accelerate clinical progress are also considered. Basic or open-ended research without a direct path to commercialization is not eligible.
EB Research Partnership employs a venture philanthropy model, meaning grantees and their institutions must negotiate terms regarding intellectual property and potential financial returns if the research leads to commercial success. All awarded projects are subject to strict guidelines, including a 5% cap on indirect costs.
