Description
The Economic History Society, in conjunction with the Institute of Historical Research (IHR), offers one-year postdoctoral fellowships in economic and/or social history, tenable at the Institute. The programme supports researchers who have recently completed a doctorate or will submit their thesis for examination by the specified eligibility date. Its purpose is to promote advanced research with a view to publication, particularly work suitable for leading refereed academic journals in economic and social history.
Alongside their research, fellows contribute to the Institute’s scholarly community. They are expected to attend appropriate seminars regularly, including the Fellows’ Seminar, present papers on their work, and provide information and help to scholars working in the same field. Residence in London is not required, but participation in Institute activities is expected.
