Summary: Supports postgraduate students at UK colleges and universities in gathering research data and sources for economic and social history.
Key Information: Applicants must be members of the Economic History Society.
The Economic History Society’s Research Fund for Graduate Students helps Master’s and PhD students at United Kingdom colleges and universities meet the costs of gathering research data and source materials. It supports research into any aspect of economic and/or social history, including travel and accommodation needed to collect materials for a project.
The fund can also support data input costs, including work undertaken by research assistants. For these requests, the Society asks applicants to explain their methodological approaches and sources and how research assistant employment meets employment regulations, best practice, and standards. Research assistance plans employing UK students may receive preference, although assistance elsewhere is not excluded.
