Description
This grant, offered by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) in partnership with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Office for National Statistics (ONS), is designed to support the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE) from 2027 to 2030. The funding aims to sustain and strengthen ESCoE’s central role in modernising economic and environmental-economic measurement for the UK, including the development of innovative methodologies, integration of emerging technologies (AI, big data), and delivery of high-impact research to improve the accuracy and relevance of core economic statistics such as GDP, productivity, labour market, and household data. The grant also supports the annual international economic measurement conference, enhanced Time Use Survey work, improved data management, and robust governance.
