The Royal Society of Biology (RSB), UK Society for Extracellular Vesicles (UKEV), and Association of Reproductive and Clinical Scientists (ARCS) jointly offer the Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Culture (EDIC) Grant. The scheme uses the organisations’ charitable funds to support non-profit activities, events, initiatives, and opportunities that champion EDIC within the biosciences.
Projects may address age, disability, neurodiversity, race and ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, LGBTQ+, pregnancy, maternity and paternity, or mental health, among other areas. The emphasis is on an expected measurable benefit to EDIC, rather than biology research alone. Recipients document their supported work in a final report, which the collaborating organisations may edit and publish through their communication channels or magazines.
