Description
The American Philosophical Association sponsors one visiting research fellowship each year at the University of Edinburgh’s Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH). The fellowship provides two to six months within the Institute’s research community, with a private office and full borrowing rights at Edinburgh University Library. It carries no financial funding.
Research may address any area of the arts, humanities, and social sciences, with priority given to work aligned with IASH’s current research strands. The Institute promotes high-standard inquiry and encourages interdepartmental and interdisciplinary study. Fellows participate in seminars and scholarly events, share their research, and develop connections with Edinburgh researchers. Resources include the university library’s manuscripts and rare books and Professor T. L. S. Sprigge’s philosophical library, housed at IASH.
