Education Mini Grants support Montana conservation districts’ small-scale education projects for students and adults, funding workshops, field trips, and programs that advance local conservation priorities.

Description
The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC), through its Conservation Districts Bureau, offers Education Mini Grants for small-scale conservation and natural resource education. Legislative funding supports locally led conservation, with activities serving youth, adults, or a specific audience or topic. Projects must align with the local conservation district’s goals and be approved and administered by that district.
Supported activities include organizing or attending workshops, school field trips, adult and youth programs, promoting educational opportunities, developing community resources, and collaborating with schools or groups on natural resource education. Examples include programs for fifth-grade students and rain barrel workshops. Mini-grant projects may not be individually included in the annual workplan, but must advance the district’s identified conservation priorities.
