Description
The Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Foundation (SAEMF) supports medical education research addressing faculty-, fellow-, resident-, and medical student-level learning in emergency medicine. Projects should be novel, innovative, measurable, reproducible, and applicable to emergency medicine practice. Each project is expected to produce a resource usable by educators within SAEM and the wider emergency medicine community.
Research may use qualitative or quantitative methods. Suitable topics include competency assessment, diagnostic reasoning, instructional methods, educational program outcomes, faculty development, workforce and career satisfaction, education-scholar job models, interprofessional education, teaching technology, simulation, clinical performance measurement, and bias in educational materials or assessments. New studies, validation, replication, and uniquely evaluable extensions of existing projects are appropriate; routine support for ongoing work is not.
