Description
The American Academy of Neurology Institute (AANI), the AAN’s education subsidiary, awards Education Research Grants to study the effectiveness of neurologic education. Projects use qualitative or quantitative methods, or both, to investigate hypothesis-driven observations or interventions in how people acquire and expand neurology knowledge and training. They may examine education for medical students, residents, fellows, practicing neurologists, and non-neurologists.
The program also seeks to strengthen AAN educational programs for quality improvement and credentialing and to develop neurology educators as education researchers. It prioritizes work that addresses a documented gap, produces generalizable or practice-changing insights, and improves neurology education or care for patients with neurological disease.
