Description
Managed by Suffolk Community Foundation, this fund was established in memory of Edward and Ivy Rose Hood to improve local lives and protect the environment. It supports services that improve people’s lives and life chances in Lowestoft and Waveney, alongside community organisations and small-scale environmental initiatives across Suffolk. Both new, innovative projects and existing activities can receive support.
The local services priority includes emotional and physical wellbeing, resilient lifestyles, safe and supportive environments, social connections, and practical life skills. The environmental priority focuses on the intersection of people and nature: helping communities reduce or adapt to climate impacts, creating inclusive green spaces, and strengthening resilience through awareness, education, skills and training. Nature-based projects should benefit the environment while promoting inclusion, health and wellbeing.
