Description
This Horizon Europe call supports research into the use and impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in pre-primary and primary educational settings. The aim is to generate robust, policy-relevant evidence on how AI tools can enhance curricula, teaching methods, teacher support (including automation of administrative tasks), and personalize learning for young children. Projects should address the developmental appropriateness of AI for young learners, ethical issues, inclusivity, accessibility for diverse and disadvantaged groups, and the identification and mitigation of bias in AI systems to ensure equity.
Research is expected to employ interdisciplinary approaches and collaborate closely with educational institutions, educators, and media literacy organizations. Longitudinal studies are encouraged to assess long-term cognitive, social, and emotional effects of AI in education. Proposals should also consider the role of media and digital platforms, and provide actionable advice for educators and policymakers. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods are welcome.
