The Egypt Distinguished Scholar Award, part of the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, offers a unique opportunity for senior U.S. academics to spend 3–9 months in Egypt teaching, conducting research, or combining both activities at public or private universities and research institutions. Scholars may advise and mentor students, contribute to curriculum and program development, and help build research capacity. The program aims to strengthen academic and cultural ties between the U.S. and Egypt, supporting Egypt’s strategic development goals and fostering international understanding. Scholars are expected to actively engage with their host institution and the broader community through public talks, mentoring, and outreach.
