Due Dates: November 15, 2026: Full application submission deadline (11:59 p.m. PST) for long-term, short-term, travel grants/exchange, and variable-term fellowships for the 2027–2028 cycle (applications open Sept. 1, 2026)
Funding Amounts: Long-term: $50,000 (9 months) or $25,000 (4–5 months); Short-term: $4,000/month (1–3 months); Variable-term: up to $50,000 or $5,000/month; Travel/exchange: $4,000 + airfare (1 month)

Description
The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens offers an extensive portfolio of fellowships for scholars, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, independent scholars, and creative practitioners in the humanities. Fellowships are designed to support research projects that make significant use of The Huntington’s library, art, and botanical collections, with opportunities available for both in-residence research in San Marino, California and for travel/exchange at partner institutions in the UK, Ireland, and beyond. The program includes long-term, short-term, variable-term, travel, and exchange fellowships, as well as specialized awards and joint professorships.
