Description
The Eleanor Searle Postdoctoral Instructorship is a two-year fellowship shared between Caltech and The Huntington for recent Ph.D. holders in the history of science, technology, and medicine. Listed among The Huntington’s partner institution fellowships, it combines independent historical research with course teaching and is offered every other year.
Awardees pursue their own research agenda at The Huntington throughout the appointment while teaching two courses per year at Caltech. The instructorship supports a sustained period in which both historical scholarship and instruction are central responsibilities, rather than a research-only appointment.
