Public-attraction charger funding is available again in most counties, and workplace and multi-unit residential funding has expanded from certain counties to all Vermont counties. The August 1, 2026 application cutoff was removed; applications remain first-come, first-served while funds last.

Description
Vermont’s Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Grant Program supports charging infrastructure that gives residents and visitors reliable places to charge. Started in 2014, the program is administered by the Department of Housing and Community Development in coordination with state environmental conservation, transportation, public service, and health agencies. Investments have supported Level 2 and DC fast charging in designated downtowns and village centers, highway corridors, public park and rides, major attractions and institutions, multifamily housing, and workplaces.
Priorities include filling geographic gaps, adding capacity in high-use highway locations, and reducing home-charging barriers for affordable multiunit housing residents. The program directs applicants seeking new incentives to Charge Vermont, a state-funded program administered by Green Mountain Power. Charge Vermont supports charger purchases and installation at workplaces, multiunit residences, and public attractions, with technical assistance and Level 1, Level 2, or DC fast charger options.
