Key Information: Awardees must agree to present a paper to the British History in the Seventeenth Century seminar.
The Elizabeth & Conrad Russell Research Bursaries are run by the Institute of Historical Research (IHR), in collaboration with the British History in the Seventeenth Century seminar. They support researchers based outside London who need to use the capital’s libraries and archives for work on any aspect of British history in the ‘long’ seventeenth century.
The programme strongly encourages research that places political, religious and constitutional history within broader perspectives, including social and cultural, transnational and comparative, gendered and marginalised, and cross-disciplinary approaches. Supported research is also connected to the IHR’s scholarly community through regular seminar participation and the presentation of a paper.
