Description
The Elizabethton/Carter County Community Foundation is a permanent community fund of East Tennessee Foundation supporting the wellbeing of Carter County and its residents. Established through a gift from a local anonymous donor, it reflects a commitment to Elizabethton and Carter County’s history, culture, and landscape while creating opportunities for others to contribute to the community.
Past funding priorities include programs that improve local health and welfare, draw on the county’s unique assets, and directly benefit residents. The fund has also supported educational and cultural opportunities, community or economic development, historic preservation, and environmental enhancement. Another focus has been strengthening applicant organizations and their leadership so they can carry out their missions more effectively.
