Emergency Grants support organizations responding to unexpected funding losses or emergencies, funding urgent services and other needs to protect Mahoning Valley residents’ health, safety and well-being.

Description
The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley (CFMV) offers Emergency Grants to eligible organizations facing unexpected losses of public funding or unplanned emergencies. Support addresses unforeseen events that significantly affect residents’ health, safety and well-being. Eligible situations include water or fire damage, unexpected equipment failure and sudden demand for essential services, such as cold-weather clothing during a deep freeze or food pantry assistance following a suspension of SNAP.
The foundation prioritizes requests through four pathways: Social Safety Net, Vulnerable Communities, Advocacy and Community Resilience. These cover basic needs, assistance for communities adversely affected by policies, nonpartisan advocacy for essential services, and programs supporting social connection, enrichment and cultural programming. Requests must show why the need is urgent and could not reasonably have been anticipated.
