Description
The Emergency Management Performance Grant is a FEMA preparedness program administered in Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA). Authorized under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, it helps governments strengthen the systems needed to protect life and property from all hazards, including evolving risks associated with natural disasters.
Funding primarily supports planning, training, exercises, and emergency management personnel. RIEMA seeks projects that sustain existing capabilities or address gaps identified through the state’s Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment and State Preparedness Report. Projects must address state priorities and RIEMA’s vision of whole-community participation in planning, response, recovery, and mitigation.
