    Description

The Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) Investigator Initiated Research Grant funds work intended to meaningfully impact emergency care research across clinical and basic science fields. Projects should address important problems or knowledge gaps relevant to emergency medicine, with potential to improve healthcare, patient outcomes, or emergency medicine practice. Supported research may test hypotheses, challenge existing paradigms or clinical practice, address barriers to progress, or develop new technology.

EMF encourages partnerships between research universities and community emergency departments, as well as engagement with operational and policy partners. The program emphasizes significance to emergency medicine, research strategy, feasibility, and innovation. Discoveries are intended to reach the public and scientific community through scientific or public policy channels, including national meetings and peer-reviewed publications.
