Description
Mayo Clinic’s Emergency Medicine Residency in Rochester, Minnesota, is a four-year graduate medical education program combining clinical training, specialized education, and research engagement. Guided by the principle that patient needs come first, it prepares physicians for academic, community, rural, and international practice. Residents care for common emergencies and complex referral cases at adult and pediatric Level 1 trauma centers and a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Training includes cadaver-based procedural labs, advanced airway instruction, ultrasound, and longitudinal pediatric, community, and rural emergency medicine experiences. Dedicated tracks in education, research, leadership, community practice, and subspecialty fellowships help residents pursue individual career goals. Research mentorship, methodological and statistical support, and protected research time support projects and the development of evidence-based practice.
