Description
Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) are funded annually by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce (ODOC). Part of Oklahoma’s Continuum of Care (CoC) system, the program supports community providers helping homeless individuals and families, and people at risk of losing housing, move toward and maintain independent living. Commerce funds providers rather than delivering direct homeless services from its office.
Eligible work includes emergency shelter operations and supportive services, street outreach, rapid re-housing, homelessness prevention, and client-data collection through HMIS. The program prioritizes community needs, movement toward self-sufficiency, CoC participation, and measurable results. Its broader goals are decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities for people with low to moderate income.
