Description
The South Carolina Arts Commission’s Emerging Artist Alumni Grants pair project funding with professional learning to support artists’ development, career growth, and sustainability. The published guidelines cover alumni who successfully completed an Emerging Artist grant in FY21–FY25. Projects can cross disciplines, but applications must align with the discipline of the artist’s original Emerging Artist grant.
Funding is for costs needed to complete an ambitious project, including supplies, equipment, furniture, and professional services such as performance-space rental or web design. Grantees also take part in meetings with commission staff, online learning, and an Artist Entrepreneur Incubator session. The commission prioritizes artists based in, or proposing activities in, its Opportunity Initiative counties.
