Description
The South Carolina Arts Commission’s Emerging Artist Alumni Grants support artistic and career development through project funding paired with professional learning. The program helps alumni undertake ambitious work while advancing career growth and sustainability. Funds cover actual costs needed to complete the proposed project, including supplies, equipment, furniture, and professional services. Projects may be multidisciplinary, but applications must align with the artist’s original Emerging Artist grant discipline.
Grantees participate in individual virtual meetings, CreativeStudy learning activities, and the commission’s Artist Entrepreneur Incubator. Review emphasizes achievable goals, aligned outcomes, artistic development, originality, and artistic evolution. Priority goes to artists located in, or proposing activities within, designated Opportunity Initiative counties.
