Description
The South Carolina Arts Commission’s Emerging Artist Grants combine funding for artwork creation with mentorship and professional support. The program is for individual South Carolina artists in the first one to five years of their careers or of a substantially different new discipline. It aims to deepen artistic practice, strengthen career sustainability, and create opportunities for professional development and collaboration.
Projects may span disciplines, but the proposed artwork must align with the artist’s selected primary discipline. Funding covers actual project costs, such as materials, equipment, furniture, and professional services. The program has two grant periods each fiscal year: January–June and July–December.
