Description
This initiative supports junior faculty and research scientists based at academic or research institutions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) with intensive mentored research and career development activities. The focus is on biomedical, behavioral, and/or clinical research relevant to LMICs, leveraging opportunities not present in the U.S. Projects must result in generalizable knowledge applicable to both U.S. and LMIC populations and must leverage existing NIH research investments. Awardees will receive mentoring from senior U.S. and LMIC researchers, aiming to foster global research leaders, mentors for future investigators, and strengthen international research networks aligned with NIH priorities.
