Description
The Emerging Research Initiative, administered by the Washington State University Agricultural Research Center (WSU ARC), is an internal competitive grant program aimed at tackling urgent and emerging research issues affecting Washington’s agricultural industries. Established with support from the Washington Legislature, this initiative provides seed funding to WSU faculty, enabling them to pursue novel research directions, fill critical knowledge gaps, and build collaborative teams. The program is designed to generate preliminary data that strengthens the competitiveness of future external grant proposals and supports high-risk, high-reward studies that have the potential to significantly benefit Washington’s agricultural sector.
