Description
The American Lung Association's Emerging Respiratory Pathogen Award funds independent investigators aiming to advance understanding of respiratory infections, including both known and novel pathogens. The award supports clinical, basic, translational, and population health research that explores viral mechanisms, host responses, community spread, and the pathophysiology of long-term sequelae (such as those seen in COVID-19). The goal is to drive innovation in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of respiratory diseases. Proposals related to gain-of-function research are not accepted.
