Description
This grant, administered by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and supported by the Norma P. Schmid Fund, is designed to enhance the mathematics content expertise of elementary school educators (PK–5) who are committed to advancing mathematics teaching and learning. The program aims to foster the development of mathematics teacher-leaders who will provide ongoing professional development and leadership to their colleagues, thereby strengthening mathematics instruction and understanding at the elementary level. Grant-funded activities may include college coursework, conference registration, stipends for in-service participation, and materials for classroom use, all focused on mathematics content and leadership.
