Summary: Emerging Voices recognizes North American individuals and firms with distinctive design voices and significant bodies of realized work in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design.
Key Information: Participation is by invitation.
Emerging Voices is a biennial invited competition administered by the Architectural League of New York. Established in 1982, it recognizes North American individuals and firms whose distinctive design voices have the potential to influence architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design. The program centers on significant bodies of realized work rather than proposals for a particular research topic or future project.
The jury reviews realized work and considers accomplishments within both design and academia. Recognized work represents the best of its kind and addresses larger issues within architecture, landscape, and the built environment. The League documents the program through past-winner listings and publications, including 30 Years of Emerging Voices.
